Afro Labour Rights Initiative (ALARI) Profile

  • by

The Afro Labour Rights Initiative (ALARI) is a company limited by guarantee, based in Uganda, dedicated to promoting employment justice, just transition, and fair Labour migration practices across Africa. In response to the challenges posed by climate change, we advocate for a just transition for workers, ensuring they are equipped, protected, and empowered as economies shift toward sustainability.

As Labour migration continues to grow and the externalization of Labour increases, we recognize the critical need to harmonize practices and safeguard workers from exploitation. We strive to create a future where businesses and workers can thrive in a fair and secure Labour environment, where Labour migration systems protect workers’ rights, uphold dignity, and contribute to global economic fairness.

At ALARI, we are committed to addressing the key drivers of Labour market transformation, including technological advancements, globalization, demographic shifts, skills development, and environmental sustainability. We do this through consultancy, research, advocacy, strategic litigation, partnerships, key stakeholder and community engagement, all geared towards a just workforce in Uganda and across Africa.
